Police hold suspect in Central murder case

Police have held a 34-year-old Longdenville man over the murder of Darian Cody Williams on Sunday near Mid Centre Mall.
Reports say the suspect was held on Sunday afternoon and is being held at the Gasparillo Police Station.
It is understood however he has not been charged as yet.
Williams was shot dead at around 5am on Sunday, after getting into an altercation with another man along the Southern Main Road.
It is alleged that soon after the argument, a green Nissan Almera motor vehicle drove alongside the group and a man exited from the car armed with a firearm.

This assailant fired shots at the group, aiming at Williams, hitting him multiple times in the back.

The assailant then made good his escape in the said vehicle which was proceeding north along the Southern Main Road.

Police are encouraging persons who may have witnessed the incident or have intimate knowledge of what transpired to contact the Chaguanas Police Station, or if they wish to do so anonymously, to contact 555 or 800-TIPS.
